  • Shoes: Target; purchased; forever ago
  • Jeggings: Target, I think?
  • T-shirt: handmedown
  • Necklace: gift
  • Choker: take a simple chain and wrap it around yo' neck twice: instant trend-following.

I was in New Jersey to have a family dinner for my birthday. I am very lucky. It hasn't always been that way. It has taken years of introspection, character improvement, and positive progress to have the truly satisfying, giving, and loving relationships I have today.

TIP: HAPPINESS MAKES ANY OUTFIT LOOK GOOD -- Start there. It's always all about what's going on inside. You better work - on self as well as sartorial.  More on that to come.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. When I was in college I wore one rainbow striped zip-up sweater hoodie (from Sears Kids) nearly EVERY day. I wanted to be a cartoon character (Huge Daria fan). As much as fashion stipulates a non-repeat policy - we all know that's not real life. Have standard outfits that express YOU - then that's what people will associate with you and have a better grasp on who you are as a person.

TIP: USE A UNIFORM -- These staple, easy, "go-to" outfits are your uniform and it doesn't have to be one top, one bottom, go for 'one vibe'. I have to believe you're beginning to see a pattern with all my leggings, tops, shifts and a-lines, and lack of patterned clothing.

What makes you happy?
